‘Film Education - A wider View’ is split into the following three parts:
Bringing film into school
We consider the challenges of bringing film into the school building - copyright and its implications, the questions regarding selecting and then accessing films for use in the classroom and building up a catalogues of films which can be used within an educational context.
We then consider the educational potential of institutions and events outside of school and the contributions that cinemas, film festivals and film archives can make to the development of film education.
Before moving on to evaluation and impact we look at the ways in which strategies - local, national and international - have been developed in order to facilitate film education and also the ways in which strategies can be used in order to inform and persuade government agencies of the value of film education.
